Karen Goodman

Karen has had an interesting life so far. Upon entering college, she studied a number of subjects, including vocal and piano performance, physics, astronomy and the Bible. During her college career, she also worked at a number of positions including Museum Guide at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, an open water lifeguard and park ranger at a local lake, and was a Castmember at Disneyland. Karen has spent more than 22 years in the United States Navy Reserve and is currently a pilot with a major airline.

Karen became a Christian when she was still in high school, but it wasn’t until her fiance started asking tough questions about Christianity that she really began to study why she believed in what she believed. Up to that point, giving “an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15) was not part of the program.  To this day, Karen thanks God for putting this man in her life who would not take a simple answer, but demanded a well reasoned, logically thought out response to his questions.

Those inquiries started Karen down the road of Apologetics, in this use of the term to mean “the use of reason and logic to support the Christian belief and theology.” She initially studied on her own and then acquired a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies. Karen recently graduated from Biola University with a Masters of Arts in Christian Apologetics. During her studies, God put it on her heart to teach other Christians about Apologetics in addition to talking with folks who either don’t believe in anything spiritual to those who believe in other religions or belief systems, which is why this site was created.

Karen is pursuing her Doctorate, and focuses on her reading and writing, her husband, and her cats who provide endless hours of entertainment and love.
